Trusting Ubisoft

Yes, I’m aware of the many memes about Ubisoft as a publisher/developer and doing the same thing over and over with Assassin’s Creed or releasing games with issues at launch. But, I think they’ve come along way in their approach to design and respect of fans. I am at the point where I trust spending money on Ubisoft games because they all end up good eventually.

I think that change starts a few years ago with a few different games and fending off a takeover from an outside company.

Far Cry 5: Review

Far Cry 5 from Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto is probably my favorite game that I’ve played so far this year. That bar isn’t very high because I’ve only finished three other games. But still, my point stands. I really enjoyed this game and I’m glad I picked it up when it went on sale a couple weeks ago on PSN. I haven’t really played a Far Cry game since 3 last generation but I’m glad I played this one. And the fact that it takes place in my home state is cool. I liked seeing Montana come to life in a video game.

TL,DR: At the end, as per usual.

And definitely no spoilers.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Review

I am a long-time fan of the Assassins’ Creed series. I didn’t play Rogue, Syndicate, or Unity for some reason but I’ve played and enjoyed every other major console release. I love the history and the fun alterations that Ubisoft makes to our living world. Assassins’ Creed Odyssey represents the where the series can go and the capabilities of the Ubisoft Quebec.

I’m excited to see where they go next, but for now here’s my review for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

NO SPOILERS.

TL,DR: At the end, as per usual.

E3 Thoughts

I look forward to E3 every year thinking we’ll see some phenomenal new games. I might be in the minority but it I think this year was whelming at best. Not overwhelming, not underwhelming, just whelming. I think the coolest news or most interesting announcements come from games we won’t be seeing for a few years at least.

Here are my thoughts on E3 2018.

The Division: Review

I played The Division at launch with a group of friends and enjoyed my time with it immensely. The campaign was a blast to play with a squad and then the dark zone had great elements that got you excited and nervous to extract gear, that usually wasn’t that good. After a couple years away, I decided to dive back into the game on PC.

TL,DR at the bottom.
